The Anderson - VanValkenburgh Family Photo Shoot with stephanie nicole photography

Overcast skies and a little rain didn't stop me from heading out to Raccoon Lake to photograph the fabulous Anderson-VanValkenburgh family at their lake house.....  and oh what fun we had!  This family has grown up coming to this lake house every summer, so anyone who knows me knows that this kind of photoshoot is right up my alley!  I absolutely love shooting at locations that mean something to the people who are being photographed.  It adds to the story of the image and it makes it all so much more personal.   

The three little girls were just adorable and certainly had no trouble warming right up to me and striking their "poses"....they had me giggling all afternoon!   Seriously, I may need to hire them to come with me on shoots....they certainly have a gift of making people laugh and they have an entire repertoire of poses  :)

And to end the shoot....of course there needed to be a "jumping in the rain" shot, per the girls' request....and I must admit....it turned out pretty fun....rain....what rain?  :)

 

 

Griffon's Senior Photoshoot with stephanie nicole photography

Let me begin by saying that this is a very special blog post today.....  I get to work with amazing people every week, but this particular photo shoot was especially meaningful to me.  I have known Griffon since he was 7 years old....and now...he is a 17 year old young man heading in to his senior year of high school.  

Griffon and I have a great history....just ask him who his "#1 girlfriend" was and who he wanted to marry back when he was 7, 8 and 9 years old.... yes...that would be me.  Of course, once he hit his early teens, I was quickly dropped for other, younger ladies  :) (rightfully so, I might add)  I have had the privilege of watching Griffon grow from a young boy into an outstanding young man....and I couldn't be more proud of who he has become.

Each summer, Grif travels from Orlando, FL to a small town in Southern Illinois to spend time with his grandparents on their farm.  This has always been very meaningful to him, so I thought it was only fitting to do his senior photoshoot at Butler Farms - the place where he did a lot of growing up over the years.  I love that when he looks back at these photos, they will hopefully mean more to him because of where they were taken...special memories, for sure.  I love the black and white image of Grif with his parents....they are walking down Griffon's favorite area of the farm...."Logging Road"....

Griffon - enjoy your senior year of high school...thanks for letting me be a part of your "growing up years" and I look forward to what the future holds for you....  and thanks for the photo on the 4-wheeler!!

Ella's Senior Session with stephanie nicole photography

I always feel so lucky to work with such fabulous people....and Ella is certainly no exception!  This young lady is full of life and is so active in the Carmel, IN community with everything she does... It was great fun to get to spend a few hours with her on her senior photoshoot a few days ago!   

I learned very quickly that Ella has a gorgeous smile and the camera loves her....her eyes just "pop" in every image!  Boy did she make my job easy!  I also learned that she LOVES Beyonce...in fact, she gets to see her in concert twice this summer!  Another fun fact... she will be attending IU...which, as a Purdue gal, I had to overlook...especially when she pulled out her cute IU tank top for a few photos.  :)  And finally....I learned that Ella adores her dog Mowgli...so of course...we had to end our shoot with a few images of the two of them together!  

I can't wait to see what the future holds for Ella....she is truly beautiful inside and out and I know without a doubt she will take on the world with confidence and that killer smile  :)

Aliyah's Indianapolis Senior Photoshoot with stephanie nicole photography

The beautiful Aliyah..... what a fantastic young woman!  I had such a great time working with her on her senior photos last week.....Aliyah will be a senior at Pike High School in the fall and has her eyes on potentially attending Purdue....a gal after my own heart!  Gotta love a Boilermaker!  :)  Not only does Aliyah have a smile that will light up a room, but she is an incredibly talented soccer player as well....so you know we had to get at least a few images of her on the field....with a bit of creativity. 

I am excited to see what her future holds for her....whatever it is...I have no doubt that it will be awesome!

The Haven Salon ladies....what can I say....these three delightful women are the absolute best...not only in their professions (hair stylists, colorists, nail specialist and more), but as fabulous gals with great hearts as well.  I had a blast working with them on their photo shoot last week for their new website and marketing material....   and I loved their "out-takes"...the candid photos in between the posed photos....they are always my favorite...just so real.... 

So - if you want to be pampered and have some fun at the same time - go visit these three ladies at their salon in Carmel....they are wonderful!!

Whitney, Mike and Leighton's first family photo shoot with stephanie nicole photography

Can I just tell you....I met the most adorable 20 day old little angel last Sunday afternoon....little miss Leighton had her first "official" photo shoot with me and she was amazing!   Her parents, Whitney and Mike were equally great...there is nothing better than seeing the love of 2 new parents for their daughter...and for each other.  Their family connection was undeniable and I loved every minute I got to spend with them.  I look forward to many more shoots with the beautiful family.....and Leighton....well....she is off to an incredible start with her modeling career.....what an absolute doll!

Congratulations Mike and Whitney....I know that Leighton has already blessed you beyond measure...

The Lawson and Ralich Families at Potter's Bridge with stephanie nicole photography

I had such a fabulous time working with 2 great families this week.....Ali and her boys and Stephanie and her girls....  Ali and Steph wanted to do a fun shoot of their kiddos as a surprise gift to their husband's on Father's Day.....I thought I was going to have to hold off on posting the images until after next Sunday...but much to my surprise (and happiness!)....Ali and Steph couldn't hold back and they both told their hubby's about the shoot.

Little man Jack (first image) really didn't want to have anything to do with getting his photo taken....but I sure do love this one of him walking away from me!    And for a bit of fun and reality....the very last image is an "out-take" from the shoot....every kid doing their own thing and their mom's smiling right at me....love it and love that this image shows what really happens during a family shoot  :)

High School Seniors Rock! - stephanie nicole photography

It's that time of year again.....and I love, love love working with high school seniors on their fun photo shoots!!!  There's nothing better than spending a little time with an enthusiastic teen ready to take on the world.....  I love just listening to them talk about their futures....whether it be college or something else.... it takes me right back to being that age and feeling like I could conquer anything.

It is my goal to capture each teen's personality through the images I take....below is a video portfolio of some of my most fabulous seniors....some are graduating in just a few short weeks and others are already into their college years.  I just love knowing that I got to be a small part of this special time in their lives!
